About me
Meagan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Merchandising from Sam Houston State University. She earned both her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy with distinction as well as an additional certification in Policy Development from Boston College. She holds an EC-6 Generalist Certification. Entering her thirteenth year in education, Meagan feels honored to have held a myriad of roles in both public and private education settings including over six years of teaching 1st grade, kindergarten, gifted and talented, and K-5 Art. She most recently served as a Curriculum Specialist and Director of Gifted and Talented programming at St. Austin Catholic School. Additionally, she has experience as a Kindergarten English Language Arts curriculum writer, an Assistant Director of Curriculum and a district ELA Content lead, ELA Campus Coordinator, and teacher mentor. Meagan was an Education Policy Fellow in 2012, studying and advocating for teacher and leader evaluation reform. She is a passionate advocate for literacy, student-centered learning, and shaping equitable, personalized, and holistic learning systems for all students. She looks forward to partnering with stakeholders to empower all students, ensuring that they feel safe, supported, successful, and celebrated.
Outside of work, Meagan enjoys serving on the Texas Rose of Tralee committee, an Irish-American cultural organization that celebrates the global Irish diaspora and women of Irish heritage around the globe. Meagan, her husband, Patrick, a transplant from Ireland, and her two children, Conor and Charlie, live in southwest Austin and can be found trying new restaurants, cooking, traveling, and discussing superheroes of all kinds.
